Imadegawa Sanetane (今出川実種)
Sanetane IMADEGAWA (July 23, 1754 - August 1, 1801) was Kugyo (a Court noble) in the middle and the late of the Edo period. He served four Emperors from the Emperor Momozono (the 116th) to the Emperor Kokaku (the 119th) and he rose to the official rank of Juichii (Junior First Rank), Naidaijin (the minister of the center). His father was Naidaijin, Kinaki SAIONJI. His mother was unknown. His lawful wife was a daughter of the lord of the Mito Domain, Munemoto TOKUGAWA. Dainagon (the chief councilor of the state), Naosue IMADEGAWA was his son and a wife of Kinmichi DAITOKUJI was his daughter. His pseudonym was 後一林院.
In 1760, he was adopted into Kinkoto IMADEGAWA and in the same year, the peerage was conferred on him. Since then, he got promoted rapidly taking various positions such as Jiju (Imperial Household Agency staff), Sakonoe no gon no shosho (Provisional Minor Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards) and Ukonoe no chujo (Middle Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards), and then, in 1766, he received the official rank of Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) to rank with Kugyo. In 1755, he received the official rank of Junii (Junior Second Rank), Dainagon (a provisional chief councilor of the state) and became Outadokoro no betto (a superintendent at an organization that provided training and management for ancient Japanese music and traditional instruments) after he assumed Toka no sechie Geben (an official who organized and supervised formal ceremonies at the Imperial Court) and Chunagon (vice-councilor of the state). The following year, he resigned from betto. In 1779, he became Naikyobo no betto (superintendent of Naikyobo where officials gave training of singing and dancing). In 1798, he was appointed to be Naidaijin and Ukone no daisho (Major Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards). The following year, he resigned. In 1800, he received Juichii (Junior First Rank).
